The event brings together a selection of independent boutiques chosen from across the city for their unique style and products. Guests will enjoy browsing an impressive range of jewellery, accessories and fashion retailers over a complimentary glass of sparkle and delicious cupcake. There are more than 15 retailers to choose from including Kakao by K plus a range of mini pamper treatments including makeovers, massages and manicures. Sparkle in the City is also offering a special treat exclusively available to guests who complete the 2009 Edinburgh MoonWalk - a complimentary mini foot massage courtesy of One Spa at the Sheraton.

Tickets are £25 but I have 10 tickets which I can sell to customers for £20, if you fancy coming along I would recommend getting your ticket fast.

New jewellery collection from our own lable Design by K

From Paris to Edinburgh is the new Design by K theme.

It is a poetic collection featuring hearts and flowers made of semiprecious stones, miniature copies of the Eiffel Tower and maps of France. All the necklaces are made with sterling silver chains or 14 carat gold plated sterling silver chains. The prices range from £20 - £39. Spring Blingo!

Ladies night out at the Roxburghe Hotel in Edinburgh.Thursday 28th May 2009. Lots of fab prices to be won. The event is in aid of raising £500,000 by the end of 2009 for a Teenage Cancer Unit at The Western General Hospital Edinburgh to support teenagers in the East of Scotland fighting cancer.

Clearance sale Sunday 29th March

On Sunday 29 March 2009 both boutiques will open their doors at 12pm offering all of last season’s stock at ‘bag-a-bargain’ prices, and everything must go!

Spring summer trends

We have started to unwrap our exclusive new spring and summer collections at Kakao by K and…they are simply delicious.

Maxi dresses are big for spring again. This floor-sweeping maxi dress in silk with striking floral print from Danish Label D’ahrling can easily be worn either during the day or in the evening. It’s even perfect for a summer wedding or hot party.

Hello sailor! Nautical is back again – hurrah. This time however, traditional navy and chic black and white are mixed up with bright colours this season. Sailor dresses and marine jackets have invaded the Edith and Ella collection, but are still ultra feminine. Team nautical items with smart pieces to balance out the 'sporty' side of sailor style.

Charity fashion show 22nd March

Date for the diary! On Sunday the 22nd of March Kakao by K will be showcasing the spring summer collection at the lynne’s challenge fashion show which is raising money for a teenage cancer unite at the Western General Hospital n Edinburgh to support Teenagers in the east of Scotland fighting cancer. The fashion show will take place at the Performing Arts Centre, Stewart Melville on Queensferry Road. The reception will start at 4pm with complementary wine and canapés, with the fashion show starting at 5pm. 200 guests will support and applaud the models as they step onto the catwalk - all have a very good reason to model for Teenage Cancer Trust. Some are teenagers who have had cancer, some are still fighting cancer. Parents and siblings of teenagers who have died from cancer join nursing, auxiliary staff and two consultants from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and volunteer fundraisers on the catwalk. Tickets are £20 for front row seats and £15 for all other seats. Tickets are selling fast so if you don’t want to get disappointed book a seat now. All money raised goes to the Teenage Cancer Trust. We will continue with our much loved Scandinavian labels this year including Dahrling, House of Lykke, Edith & Ella and Dixie. We will however, also be introducing hot French label IKKS for Spring/Summer 09, which we are sure you will fall in love with. IKKS designs for women play on the contrasts between authenticity/sophistication, and relaxation/chic touches. Relaxation is key but never sporty – always Parisian chic.
